Scenic winter walks to get your steps in

Known as the ‘Nature Emirate’, Ras Al Khaimah is adored for its beautifully diverse landscapes and terrain. From glistening azure coastlines and glowing amber mountain ranges, to lush green mangroves and captivating golden dunes, RAK’s natural beauty is truly something to behold. We’ve curated the top 5 spots where you can exercise and take in some of these breathtaking vistas at the same time.

Al Marjan Island

Al Marjan Island

A bustling tourist hotspot, Al Marjan Island extends 4.5 kilometers into the sea and is home to some of the most popular hotels in the UAE.  Breathtaking ocean views from walking paths that span the island make Al Marjan a picture-perfect place to run, walk or cycle, cooled by the shade of date palms, and the fresh breeze of the Arabian Gulf. Be sure to stop on one of the bridges to admire the abundant, colorful marine-life, where stingrays and turtles are often spotted.

Al Hamra Waterfront

Al Hamra Waterfront

Steps away from Al Hamra Beach’s glistening shoreline, Al Hamra Waterfront is an idyllic location to take a long, leisurely stroll. The 220-berth Marina is framed with verdant flora and fauna and just a stone’s throw from quaint art installations, restaurants and cafes that line the Pier 1 boardwalk.

Qwasim Courniche

Al Qawasim Corniche

Cyclists, runners, and walkers populate this 3-kilometer, tree-lined stretch that hugs the coastline and protected emerald mangroves, teeming with wildlife, in the heart of RAK City. In contrast to the hustle and bustle of commerce and urban life nearby, Corniche Al Qawasim is one of the most picturesque roads in RAK, offering a peaceful slice of nature, mesmerising views and a  dramatic skyline, punctuated by Julphar Towers and the vast, rugged peaks of Jebel Jais.
