Ras Al Khaimah Art 2026 invites the world to celebrate civilizations

Ras Al Khaimah is kicking off 2026 with a festival that goes beyond art. The Ras Al Khaimah Art Festival has announced Civilizations as its theme, inviting the world to explore how cultures, histories, and creativity collide. It’s a global stage for ideas, stories, and connections. From 16 January to 8 February 2026, the historic Al Jazeera Al Hamra Heritage Village will host the festival, offering a unique backdrop where creativity meets tradition.

You don’t have to be an art expert to feel the energy this festival brings. From exploring works from over 40 countries to discovering new perspectives to experiencing how cultures intersect through creativity, there is something to captivate everyone. This is an invitation to step into a space where stories, ideas, and imagination come alive.

A global gathering of creativity

Artists from more than 40 nationalities, along with diplomatic missions and cultural partners, will take part this year. Ras Al Khaimah is becoming a meeting point for the world, demonstrating how different histories and traditions can come together through art.

As Octavio Paz once said, life grows through differences, not uniformity. The festival captures that idea, celebrating diversity as a source of inspiration rather than division.

What civilizations have to tell us

Civilizations are more than history books. They are stories we live and create every day. From ancient trade routes that once linked Ras Al Khaimah to distant lands, to the modern cities that define today’s world, the festival explores how art has always been shaped by cultural exchange.

Visitors can expect works that show:

  • The wisdom of the past
  • The grand narrative of civilizations
  • Cultural diversity and connections
  • Enduring legacies of the past

Art as a bridge

The festival also highlights the power of art to connect people. When countries, cultures, and artists come together, creativity becomes a language everyone can understand. Ras Al Khaimah is creating a space where dialogue happens naturally through exhibitions, performances, and collaborations.

Growing from local roots

The festival was founded in 2013 with just 30 emerging artists from Ras Al Khaimah. Today, it has grown into the Emirate’s most important cultural event. The festival is no longer just an annual event. It now runs programs year-round, offering grants, workshops, and masterclasses to nurture creativity and help artists thrive.

A festival that inspires

Ras Al Khaimah Art 2026 is a celebration of history, culture, and imagination. It highlights the connections between civilizations and the creative ideas that continue to shape the world. The festival invites visitors to experience art that tells stories, sparks dialogue, and leaves a lasting impact beyond its exhibitions.
