If you enjoy hiking in Ras Al Khaimah, there’s an exciting new development in the pipeline.. A cross-Emirate hiking trail will soon connect Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah through the mountains for the first time. This move comes after a new partnership between Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) and Fujairah Adventures, signed at the International Conference on Adventure Tourism on April 30, 2025.
Why this matters for everyday life
Hiking is a fundamental aspect of the outdoor lifestyle in Ras Al Khaimah—and now, thanks to this new adventure trail, residents can explore even more of the untouched landscapes across the Northern Emirates.
For those considering a move to Ras Al Khaimah or already calling it home—this is one of those quality-of-life upgrades that will make the Emirate feel more connected to nature and support a more active and community-focused lifestyle.
What adventures Ras Al Khaimah already has to offer
- Jebel Jais – A long loop mountain trail with panoramic views across the stunning Al Hajar range
- Jais Sky Tour – Six zipline experiences at the highest peak of the UAE, including Jais Flight, the world’s longest zipline
- Bear Grylls Explorers Camp – Survival skills and guided hikes
- Trails like Yibir, Diftah, and Esfai – Popular go-to spots for weekend hikes
Linking Fujairah, there will be even more to explore
- Altaybbah Route – An old trail between mountain villages
- Wadi Al Dahir and Wadi Al Abadilah – Natural pools, streams, and canyons
- Seven Summits – Seven uniquely designed towers, each symbolising one of the seven Emirates
The bigger picture
Stretching across landscapes and borders, this new trail will represent more than adventure and tourism — it’s a shared vision for wellness, exploration, and unity.
The initiative is also expected to create more local and regional business opportunities and enhance job creation related to hiking, tourism, and conservation.
