Abra in Ras Al Khaimah
Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA) has initiated the first phase of the Marine Transport Project, introducing the heritage Abra service along Ras Al Khaimah Creek. The project includes four main stations: Corniche Station 1, Corniche Station 2, Hilton Garden Inn Station, and Manar Mall Station.
Fare Structure:
- AED 10 per station
- Rental for 30 minutes: AED 150
- Rental for 60 minutes: AED 300
Note: Children below the age of 2 ride for free.
Taxis in Ras Al Khaimah
Taxis offer a reliable and efficient mode of transportation, regulated by Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA), and adhering to high standards of safety and professionalism. Passengers can easily hail a taxi, book through smartphone apps such as Hala Careem, or call taxi companies directly.
In addition, Ras Al Khaimah is enhancing sustainability in its transportation sector by integrating 11 Tesla vehicles into its taxi fleet. Moreover, Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA) and Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) have partnered with Skyports Infrastructure to introduce an electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) ecosystem. This initiative aims to develop a network of vertiports connecting key attractions such as Al Marjan Island, Al Hamra, and Jebel Jais, promoting sustainability across the Emirate.

How to Hail a Taxi
Calling a taxi in the Emirate is easy. You can book an Al Hamra or Al Arabia taxi by calling their service center at 800-1700. Another way to book is via Careem, a newer addition to RAK’s transport network.

Taking a taxi in RAK is the most popular way to get around. Here are the expected fares:
- Flag Fare Day Time (6am to 9:59pm) – starting from AED4
- Flag Fare Night Time (10pm to 5:59am) – starting from AED5
- Flag Fare to other Emirates – starting AED15
- Every 595 Meters – AED1
- Every 1 Kilometer – AED1.88
- Waiting Charge after 5 minutes – AED 0.50 per minute
- Minimum trip fare – AED6

How to Get a Bus Card
You must purchase an E-SAQR Card from the bus station to pay for your bus ride. You can top it up while at the bus station if needs be. Moreover, there are three types of cards: Blue, Silver, and Gold.
The Blue Card is for all categories and users. It costs AED30, including AED20 that is automatically added to your card. Alternatively, the Silver Card is for passengers who are university or school students, senior citizens and residents above the age of 60. It costs AED20 and includes a 50% discount on all fees. Lastly, the Gold Card is the designated card for People of Determination, allowing holders to ride public transportation for free.
