The Ras Al Khaimah Animal Welfare Centre (RAKAWC) helps stray and abandoned animals by rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming them. Since 2010, the center has worked to find new homes for animals in need and promote responsible pet ownership through education. Supported by the UAE Government, RAKAWC provides a place for animals to recover and start over in a new home.
Why Adoption Matters
RAKAWC has grown from a small rescue group to a full-service animal center. Spread over 22,000 square meters, it includes a veterinary hospital, an indoor cattery and kennels, the UAE’s largest outdoor dog park, and a dog swimming pool. Soon, it will open a pet hotel for animals awaiting adoption or care.
Adopting a pet from RAKAWC means giving an animal a fresh start. All pets are vaccinated, microchipped, and ready for new homes. Those who can’t adopt can foster, offering temporary care to an animal in need.

Not ready to adopt? There are other ways to help. Donations fund food, medical care, and shelter operations. Volunteers can assist with daily tasks and adoption events. Businesses and individuals can also sponsor an animal, helping cover its care until adoption.
